Building a Legacy of Excellence
Greetings Friends of TPWO,
The next Twin Ports Wind Orchestra concert is “The Symphonic Sounds of TPWO” on Sunday, October 29 at 3:00 p.m. at Weber Music Hall. This concert celebrates the layers, textures, colors, and dynamics of the modern symphonic winds ensemble. Works by Kimberly Archer and Aaron Perrine highlight what a wind band can create. All the pieces are highlights--one big one is Symphony No. 3 “For David” written by Kimberly Archer to celebrate the late composer David Maslanka and his rhythmically complex and absolutely beautiful combinations of instruments and sounds.
If you miss us on the 29th or want more music, join us at Weber Music Hall again on Friday, November 3 at 6:00pm to hear a joint concert with the UMD Symphonic Wind Ensemble first followed by Twin Ports Wind Orchestra. This evening concert is part of the Honor Bands Festival with 225 high school musicians--their concert is Saturday, November 4.
Thank you for your support It truly is so nice to gather as a community ensemble to learn and make music together. The ensemble is looking forward to playing for you this season!
